Equipment Upgrades

Unlike other pool services in the valley, we have no prearranged compensatory agreements with equipment manufactures, so you can rest assured that when we recommend specific pieces of pool equipment to you, that we have no ulterior motives. Our recommendations are based solely on our past experiences with equipment functionality, reliability, and manufacturer warranty. Generally our recommendations on pool equipment are not always the least expensive product available, but just like everything else out there; you get what you pay for.

Pool / Spa Filters

Diatomaceous Earth or D.E. Filters

A D.E. filter is the most efficient type of pool filter on the market. It can trap particles down to 3 - 5 microns; well below what the naked eye can see. The main filtration aid of a D.E. Filter is diatomaceous earth. Diatomaceous Earth or DE is a naturally occurring, soft, chalk-like sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder. Diatomaceous Earth consists of fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of hard-shelled algae which is used as a filtration aid. This powder has an abrasive feel, similar to pumice powder, and is very light, due to its high porosity. If you want the finest, purest water possible, than a D.E. filter is for you.

Cartridge Filters

The filter of choice for most spas and for homes located in communities with strict backwashing rules, the cartridge filter is enjoying a resurgence in popularity. The cartridge filter element, an aquatic version of the pleated air cleaner in your car, traps dirt and particles of 25 - 100 microns in size. The cartridge filter provides higher water filtration efficiency than a sand filter, but is less efficient than a D.E. filter.

Sand Filters

Sand filters use sand as a means to collect and remove debris from a body of water. Sand is contained in a vessel or tank, water is pumped into the top of the tank, and into the internal distributor. This allows the pool water to "rain down" and flow through the media. As the water flows through, dirt and debris are collected and removed from the water. The debris is held behind and the clean water is returned to the swimming pool. Sand filters are a tried and true means for filtering your pool water, but keep in mind that while sand filters are generally efficient enough for use on your pool, their filtering efficiency pails in comparison to that of a D.E. filter or even a cartridge filter.

Pumps

While the concept behind a pool pump has not changed since its inception, the modern pool / spa pump incorporates innovative hydraulic engineering to move water more efficiently and quietly than pool pumps of the past. Under typical operating conditions, modern day pool pumps offer a much higher water flow rate than previous generations of pumps and they do so with far lower electrical consumption levels, which mean lower electrical bills. The replacement of an old brass pump with a new pump can pay for itself in just a few short years with its decreased electrical usage, not to mention the increased water flow and decreased noise levels.

Heaters

Pool and spa heaters have improved by leaps and bounds over the past ten years. New pool heaters offer a variety of features that were just not available to consumers in the past including; digital readouts, and remote access. These new heaters are also much more efficient, and more powerful than previous models.

Lights

Upgrading your pool or spa’s lighting system provides an exiting opportunity to truly transform your pool and spa into a unique experience underneath the moon lit night. Experience an array of brilliant colors that transport your imagination and create the atmosphere your backyard has been lacking.
